The Vice-Chancellor and management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology have inspected ongoing works on the construction of a 23-studio Learning Resource Centre for the University.

Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor were the Registrar, Mr. Andrews Kwasi Boateng, the Finance Officer, Mr. Yaw Nimo-Baffour, the Internal Auditor, Mr Moses Tsiquaye, the Chief University Architect, Mr. Kojo Safo-Kantanka, the Director of Works and Physical Development, Dr. Jimmy Nkrumah and the Dean of the Quality Assurance and Planning Office, Prof. Jerry John Kponyo.

Touring the facility, Prof. (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far. She was particularly delighted that the contractor has been within schedule in the construction of the facility and charged the E-Learning Centre to be good stewards of the facility.

Prof. (Mrs.) Dickson was optimistic that the facility, operationalized by the KNUST E-Learning Centre, will be a stepping stone for the University to become a hub for e-learning in the sub-region. Prof. Eric Appau Asante, the Director of the E-Learning Centre, thanked the Vice-Chancellor and management for taking time off their busy schedule to see at firsthand the level of work on the e-learning studios.

He noted that their visit signifies the level of importance management of the University attaches to digitization and e-learning. He also re-echoed the Centre’s readiness to drive the University’s e-Learning agenda as it is the future of education.
